For sale is upgraded, an exceptional example of a Fender Precision Bass from the legendary JV (Japanese Vintage) series, serial number JV10771.
This instrument was manufactured in the first year of production of JV series, 1982 at the renowned Fujigen factory in Japan. This is the earliest and most highly regarded Fender Japan production runs.

This bass has been additionally upgraded with regretting on PLEK, titanium bridge (Improves sustain, tone and articulation) and Klein Epic pickups. Original parts are also included.

About the JV Series

The JV (Japanese Vintage) series was produced between 1982 and 1984 and represents the very first generation of Fender instruments made in Japan.
These basses were built as highly accurate vintage reissues (including the ’57 Precision Bass) and remain highly valued for:

  • outstanding build quality
  • excellent tonewoods and resonance
  • classic vintage tone
  • in many cases, the use of USA-made pickups and components

Well-preserved JV instruments are increasingly sought after by both players and collectors.

Condition & Playability

This particular bass is in very good condition for its age (40+ years).
It shows only minor, natural signs of use and features a beautifully aged finish, giving it an authentic vintage character (see photos).

There is a small mark behind the bridge, only visible upon close inspection (please refer to the bridge photo). It does not affect the instrument’s aesthetics or performance in any meaningful way.

  • Frets: 10/10 – professionally refretted this year using a PLEK machine
  • Neck: very comfortable, stable, and easy to play
  • Tone: powerful, open, dynamic, and highly balanced across the spectrum
  • Body: resonant with strong sustain
  • Upgrades include: titanium bridge, Klein Epic Pickups

This is a lively, inspiring instrument that clearly stands out from modern production basses.
