Hi!
I am selling this stellar 1979 Fender Precision Bass in the infamous Antigua finish.
This bass features a vintage EMG PJ setup (old logo) and weighs only 4.4 kg, which is quite reasonable for a late-’70s ash-body Precision Bass. Adding a J pickup was a really commin practice has “PJ” did not exist in the 70’.
It is fitted with an extremely rare vintage Schaller D-Tuner (produced during 70-80 and impossible to find nowadays) and plays exceptionally well with a low, comfortable action: 1mm G and E at 12th fret with no deadspot nor buzz.
The instrument sounds fantastic and is ready to be played. Everything works has it should. Frets are still in great shape.
An interesting detail: by 1979 Fender was no longer consistently pre-drilling the bridge and pickup cover mounting holes, and this bass reflects that period of production.
This is a true player’s instrument, not a collector piece. Please refer to the photos for its overall condition.
