Alleva Coppolo “1600 Limited” 2007 (Price drop!)

For sale: 2007 Alleva-Coppolo 5 string “1600 Limited” bass guitar, handmade by Jimmy Coppolo.

Due to unexpected medical problems, I have reluctantly decided to sell my favorite instrument so that it may have a new home.

This 5 string bass guitar is the venerable 2007 Alleva-Coppolo “1600 Limited”, made by my friend Jimmy Coppolo himself in his New York City shop before relocating to California, which I purchased in late August 2007. It plays and sounds as good as it looks!

This active bass is in near mint condition, and comes with its original Alleva-Coppolo water resistant gig-bag (also in perfect condition). The bass also comes with a hard case made for a Fender Jazz Bass, in which it fits well, but will also include the original Alleva-Coppolo gig bag. Additionally, the original black Jazz Bass style knobs are included.

Body: Alder with quilted figured maple top. No belt rash.
Neck: Wide and thin 34″ scale. Rock maple with black dot markers.
Finish: Caramel Burst.
Pickups: Hand wound proprietary in house Alleva-Coppolo (1970’s spacing)
Electronics: Proprietary Alleva-Coppolo 2 band pre-amp (bass and treble boost)
Hardware: All Gold tone
Tuners: Hipshot Ultralite Cloverleaf
Bridge: Hipshot Style “B”

This model has been out of production for many years and rarely comes up for sale anywhere, and I doubt any would be in such beautiful condition. Made when Jimmy Coppolo was working out of his Manhattan New York shop, which many consider his best period.

“I made your bass in July of 2007. It is a 1600 model, but it is similar to the LM-5 model because of the maple neck and the 70’s pickup placement.”

As can be seen on the hand engraved neck plate serial number (B50060), this unique bass was the 60th 5-string bass Jimmy made. The bass is located in Kempen (NRW), Germany and is available for inspection and playing or shipping. Pick up preferred! There is only one small chip in the lacquer on the neck (see photo) but it does not effect playability.

Aufgrund unerwarteter gesundheitlicher Probleme habe ich mich schweren Herzens entschlossen, mein Lieblingsinstrument zu verkaufen, damit es ein neues Zuhause findet.

Diese 5-saitige Bassgitarre ist die ehrwürdige Alleva-Coppolo „1600 Limited” aus dem Jahr 2007, die mein Freund Jimmy Coppolo selbst in seiner Werkstatt in New York City hergestellt hat, bevor er nach Kalifornien gezogen ist. Ich habe sie Ende August 2007 gekauft. Sie spielt und klingt genauso gut, wie sie aussieht!

Dieser aktive Bass ist in nahezu neuwertigem Zustand und wird mit seiner originalen wasserfesten Alleva-Coppolo-Gigbag-Tasche (ebenfalls in perfektem Zustand) geliefert. Der Bass wird außerdem mit einem Hartschalenkoffer für einen Fender Jazz Bass geliefert, in den er gut passt, aber auch die originale Alleva-Coppolo-Gigbag-Tasche wird mitgeliefert. Zusätzlich sind die originalen schwarzen Jazz-Bass-Style-Knöpfe enthalten.

Korpus: Erle mit gewölbter Decke aus gemasertem Ahorn. Keine Abnutzungsspuren durch den Gürtel.
Hals: Breit und dünn, 34″-Mensur. Rock Maple mit schwarzen Punktmarkierungen.
Lackierung: Caramel Burst.
Tonabnehmer: Handgewickelte Alleva-Coppolo-Eigenentwicklung (Abstand wie in den 1970er Jahren)
Elektronik: Alleva-Coppolo 2-Band-Vorverstärker (Bass- und Höhenanhebung)
Hardware: Alle Gold Tone
Tuners: Hipshot Ultralite Cloverleaf
Bridge: Hipshot Style “B”

Dieses Modell wird seit vielen Jahren nicht mehr hergestellt und kommt nur selten zum Verkauf, und ich bezweifle, dass es eines in so einem schönen Zustand gibt. Hergestellt, als Jimmy Coppolo in seiner New Yorker Werkstatt arbeitete, was viele als seine beste Zeit betrachten.

„Ich habe deinen Bass im Juli 2007 gebaut. Es handelt sich um ein Modell 1600, das jedoch aufgrund des Ahornhalses und der Pickup-Platzierung im Stil der 70er Jahre dem Modell LM-5 ähnelt.“

Wie aus der Seriennummer auf der Halsplatte hervorgeht (B50060), war dieser Bass der 60. 5-saitige Bass, den Jimmy gebaut hat. Der Bass befindet sich in Kempen (NRW) und kann vor Ort besichtigt und ausprobiert werden oder versandt werden.
