4500 grams, which may be seen as very light for a bass like this. The balance of the BSR-model is top.

This bass is in remarkable condition. It plays like a dream and sounds unmistakably like a Smith: rich, articulate, and authoritative.

The bolt-on construction gives it a little more attack and dynamic response, while the three-piece neck and body make it feel resonant compared with the more extensively laminated Smith models. I often describe it as the most Jazz Bass-like Ken Smith I have ever played—yet it remains 100% Smith in character, quality, and tone.

Since becoming the European importer and distributor for Kikuchi Guitars, I have decided to part with a few instruments from my private collection. You simply cannot keep them all, and this Smith deserves to be cherished, played, and enjoyed rather than left in its case.
